Eraser Figure Drawing

Eraser Figure Drawing
4/15/2013

Medium: Charcoal (background) & Eraser on 22x30" sketch paper. | This is one of my favorite figure drawings I've composed during this particular semester in my Life Drawing I class during my Spring 2013 semester at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. For this figure drawing, we were required to black out the entire page with charcoal, then, using only an eraser, bring out the highlights to establish the figure with a wide range of values. This work was an in-class study, where the model posed for 30-45 minutes and that was our time to create our work. I feel that the strongest parts of the figure i've created are the neck, hair, and head, with detailed highlights and a range of values using only a vinyl eraser with different pressures.
